OpenShowstudio is pleased to host Video Art Festival Miden. The themed programs of contemporary video art "All Greek to ME", "The Moneying of Life" and "Supernatural" will be presented on 6.7 and 8 May 2011.

From 2pm to 12am, last projection at 11pm.

All Greek to Me / Friday 6 May

A selection of videos by Greek contemporary artists in a screening program curated by Giorgos Dimitrakopoulos and Gioula Papadopoulou. The program was initially curated for and presented in the project “Attraction of the Opposites” which was realised in collaboration with the International Film Festival Rotterdam, at Rotterdam, 26 January – 6 February 2011.

The Moneying of Life / Saturday 7 May

The most crucial and constant concern of the globalized village over the last two years, directing lives and shaping realities. Is it a game of Tombola or even worse a casino? Is moneying the meaning of life? What will the clouds of the Nigerian artist Emeka Ogboh bring? The program, curated by Giorgos Dimitrakopoulos was initially screened in Festival Miden 2010, Kalamata GR.

Through folk culture, sience fiction, horror films and the uncanny life-like androids, humanity likens to explore the hidden aspects of itself and reveal them in dreams, myths and fantasies, until they find their place in a new hyper-reality. The program, curated by Maria Bourika was initially screened in Festival Miden 2010, Kalamata GR.
